Kenneth M. Bloom Kenneth M. Bloom, a founding member of the firm, is a CPA and attorney who practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, wills, trusts, probate, asset protection, real estate, general corporate, and business transactional matters. Ken graduated with honors in accountancy from the College of Commerce at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Ken received his law degree from the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he concentrated in estate planning and tax law and was a member of the Moot Court Society.

Ken is the immediate past chair of the Asset Protection Committee of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA). He continues to serve on the CBA's Internal Finance Committee, where he was appointed in 1995 as its youngest member in the 125-year history of the committee. Ken's leadership positions and honors in the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the CBA include receiving the 1998 Milton H. Grey Award for Outstanding Project Leadership and serving as the association's Treasurer, seven year member of the Board of Directors, two-term chair of the Estate Planning Committee and Senior Project Coordinator. Ken also belongs to the CBA's Tax Law, Probate Practice, Federal Estate & Gift Taxation, Trust Law (past member, Executive Board) and Elder Law Committees. He is an esteemed member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council, the Illinois State Bar Association Trust and Estate Section, the American Bar Association, Real Property and Probate Section, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.

Ken lectures extensively and is regularly published in several journals including those published by the American Bar Association (ABA) and the Chicago Bar Association, as well as the Chicago Tribune. Ken also authors a bi-monthly column in LifeTimes, the BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois newsletter. In addition, Ken has attended the Stetson University Law School's Special Needs Trust Symposium for the last three years and is active with the Special Needs Alliance, a national group of attorneys dedicated to meeting the estate planning needs of the disabled.

Ken was awarded an ABA grant to present a Hospice and Homebound Elderly Pro Bono Legal Assistance program in Vancouver, British Columbia, appeared on a Chicago television station's Law Week broadcast as an estate planning panelist, and served as an Illinois delegate to several ABA General Assemblies. Ken also had the honor of serving as Leadership Fellow and is the current Chair of the Planned Giving Committee for the American Technion Society.

Ken is rated among the top six percent of Illinois estate planning attorneys as selected by his peers and the American Research Corporation, and has received the highest rating of distinction by the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory. Ken is listed in the Who's Who in American Law as well as the National Register of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. In addition, Ken was named to the exclusive roll of 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Illinois Super Lawyers.
